A massive well done
to Iris and Eireann who dominated this years breaststroke events at counties!
Iris won Gold in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke with times of 1:14.42 and 2:44.92 respectively but her time of 1:13.77 in her 100m heat was a qualification time for this years British Swimming Olympic trials. Iris also claimed a Silver in the 50m breaststroke final with a time of 34.78. Well done, Iris!
Eireann was crowned champion and collected her Gold medal in the 50m breaststroke with a time of 34.74 and also bagged a couple of Bronze medals in the 100 & 200 breaststroke with times of 1:18.47 and 2:50.29 respectively. Eireann was also the recipient of the Ray Haggan Trophy for being the fastest Junior 50m Breaststroker. This is a special moment for the club as Eireann is the first Anaconda swimmer to win the trophy donated to Middlesex by our club in recognition of all the work our own Ray Haggan has done for swimming over the years. The trophy is now fondly known as ‘The Ray’. Well done, Eireann!
